Goodbye VMware PSE...Hello VMware CPSBU

TL;DR — After almost 6 years in Professional Services Engineering, I’m joining the Cloud Provider Software Business Unit as a Staff Technical Product Manager.

Working @ VMware

I will always remember that May 2014 phone call:

“Hi Romain, it’s Katrina from VMware HR. You got the role, congratulations!”

I was speechless: it seemed entirely out of reach to work for VMware one day. Of course, the journey in the past years was neither without challenges nor easy, but it has been a fantastic ride! I like to think that my contribution helped to the adoption of solutions and products such as NSX Data Center. During my time in Professional Services Engineering, I led and developed a portfolio of services, some of them being the top delivered professional services by VMware PSO and partners.

After almost 6 years in PSE, I decided to try a new adventure.

Joining the Cloud Provider Software Business Unit

I’m not leaving the VMware family as I’m transitioning to a Staff Technical Product Manager role in the Cloud Provider Software Business Unit (CPSBU) to:

  • Function as a technical product expert for specific cloud provider solution areas (NSX Data Center, NSX ALB, etc.).
  • Design and architect end to end validated solutions that represent real-world cloud provider implementations.
  • Design and develop technical sales and marketing collateral for new and existing technologies (demos, presentations, blogs, technical white papers, videos, and field training courses).
  • Deliver session and develop demos for conferences/events (VMworld, Empower, Tech Summit, VMUGs).
  • Provide technical enablement to VCPP providers and SE teams for CPSBU products.
  • Work closely with the CPSBU engineering team providing feedback on early engineer releases and feature implementations.

…and a lot more!

While I’ll continue to blog here, I will also start posting on the VMware Cloud Provider Blog.
