Expand your Visibility in NSX-T with the NSX-T Log Insight Content Pack

When it comes to infrastructure, or security, logging is one of the main key elements: logs are the best source of information for troubleshooting issues, analyzing changes and obtaining runtime operational data. For that reason, I was looking to forward NSX-T logs to Log Insight to see what kind of queries I could leverage. I was surprised to find out that a NSX-T Log Insight Content Pack is already available! :) ...

For my first 2016 post, I will write about the new vRealize Operations Management Pack for NSX for vSphere (version 3.0) of which release went quite unnoticed mid December 2015. The NSX for vSphere management pack offers comprehensive operations management coverage for any customer piloting, or deploying, NSX for vSphere. Extend vROps 6 Capabilities with the vRO Solution & Workflow Package

With vRealize Operations Manager 6.0 (a.k.a. vROps), VMware released a version which introduced not only major architectural changes but also many new features. Amongst those (amazing) new features, the concept of symptoms, recommendations and actions were added to the product. The actions available in vRealize Operations Manager allow you to modify the state or configuration of selected objects in vCenter Server from the correct context in vROps user interface. An administrator might need to change the configuration of an object to address a problematic resource issue or to redistribute resources to optimize your infrastructure. ...

vRealize Rebranding Cheat Sheet

Earlier in August, at VMworld 2014, VMware announced a major renaming of its management products, to unify all current and future cloud management offerings under a single brand: VMware vRealize. This new brand is focused on 3 areas: Automation, Operations and Business. Besides, vCloud Hybrid Service (a.k.a. vCHS) was renamed to vCloud Air. VMware also announced new SaaS offerings for management products hosted on vCloud Air. When vRealize products are offered as a service on vCloud Air, they will be branded vRealize Air “X” where “X” is the descriptive name of the product (such as vRealize Air Automation). ...
